Full Time Staffing Coordinator
Purpose of Your Job Position
The primary purpose of your position as Staffing Coordinator is to responsible for ensuring that all units are staffed appropriately according to census and acuities in accordance with applicable federal guidelines for staffing.

Duties and Responsibilities
Administrative Functions
- Process and verify time cards and sheets, etc., on a timely basis.
- Verify work schedules against time cards.
- Perform functions of computer and data processor, as necessary.
- Works in conjunction with Clinical Educator in setting up orientation for new employees.
- Maintains a readily available list of all nursing employees and their contact numbers for use by supervisors and unit managers.
- Maintain daily tardy and absenteeism calendars.
- Ensures that the facility has sufficient, trained, quality personnel available.
- Performs administrative requirements, such as, completing forms, reports, etc. and submitting them to the proper individual(s).
- Maintains a good employee relations program.
- Maintains the nursing schedule and time sheets, ensuring adequate unit coverage as required and directed by the Adminsistrator and according to regulated staffing patterns and ratios.
- Complete and posts daily staffing sheets.
- Ensure newly hired nursing staff has schedules.
- Answer employee calls regarding staffing and scheduling functions. Prepare written correspondence, as necessary.
- Complete monthly nursing schedule coordinating requests to ensure appropriate coverage of units.
- Communicates with the unit managers, nursing supervisors and/or the Director of Nursing, on a daily basis, to ensure adequate staff coverage and functioning.
- Covers opens on the schedule.
- Serves on committees as directed by the Administrator.
- Confirm and maintain licenses and certifications are in current standing with state approved agencies for all employees.
- Maintains list of employees and their hire dates and gives performance appraisals to department heads for completion
- Filling as needed
- Performs all other related duties and responsibilities as requested.
- Must Adhere to all HIPAA requirement.
Personnel Functions
- Assist in interviewing C.N.A.s when requested
- Assist in recordkeeping and documentation of attendance and tardiness for employee performance appraisals.
- Maintains current certifications and licenses for all departments in binder.
- Maintain confidentiality at all times.
Staff Development
- Provide each newly hired nursing employee with their orientation schedule and assigns a mentor to them.
- Attend in-service training programs, as scheduled.
Working Conditions
Works throughout the facility communicating with staff members at a professional level.
Education
High School Diploma or its equivalency.
Experience
At least two years of experience working in a nursing facility doing staffing.
Qualifications
Any combination of experience, knowledge, skills and abilities in this field appropriate for the job.
Regulatory Compliance – QAPI
- Knowledgeable in data collection, data analysis methodology, and performance improvement methods needed to support and lead performance improvement projects
- Collaborate with the quality committee and senior leaders to prioritize and develop QAPI efforts
- Lead performance improvement projects and provide education and coaching in order to build needed skills in others to lead PIPs
- Participate in multidisciplinary QAPI activities
- Knowledge of current Performance Improvement Initiatives
